Noah and the Ark | Snapshot at Ta Tung

An End that marks A New Beginning

Who could have predicted the outbreak of a global pandemic in a peaceful and prosperous city? In early 2020, Covid-19 struck, spreading rapidly and widely. Face-to-face lessons were suspended, forcing both teachers and students to adapt to online classes from home—an immense challenge for everyone involved.

During this tumultuous time, only a few staff members remained on campus. Our Campus Beautifying Crew saw an opportunity to transform the school's appearance, preparing to welcome students back once in-person lessons resumed. Inspired by the story of Noah’s Ark, they envisioned creating a symbolic ark on campus to convey a message of hope and renewal. This project not only brightened our environment but also reminded us that brighter days were ahead.

God instructed Noah to build an ark to protect himself, his family and various animals.

Noah's Ark: A True Story in the Bible

The story of Noah's Ark is a well-known biblical narrative found in the book of Genesis. It begins with God observing the wickedness of humanity, which had grown rampant on the earth. In response to this corruption, God decided to cleanse the world with a great flood, but He chose to spare Noah, a righteous man, and his family. God instructed Noah to build a massive ark, providing detailed specifications. Noah obediently followed these instructions, taking 50 years to build the ark.

When the ark was completed, God commanded Noah and his family to enter it along with the animals. Shortly after they boarded, the heavens opened, and it rained continuously for forty days and nights. The ark served as a refuge for them.

After the rain ceased, the waters gradually receded, allowing the ark to come to rest on the mountains of Ararat after more than half a year. Noah sent out a raven and then a dove to see if the waters had dried up. The dove eventually returned with an olive leaf, signaling that the earth was beginning to recover.

Thereafter, God made a covenant with Noah, promising never to destroy the earth with a flood again, and He set a rainbow in the sky as a sign of this promise.

Noah's Ark is not only a symbolic religious sign.It also serves as a powerful reminder of faith and the hope of new beginnings.

An End that marks A New Beginning

In order to align with the new school’s 3-year development plan, the ark needs to be removed. The ark has symbolized hope and unity, and the students have developed a strong attachment to it. They took the final moments to take photos with it, capturing sweet memories. Each photo holds particular personal feelings and insights into the Ark’s story. These precious memories mark the growth of the students and will remain in their hearts forever.

The removal of the ark is not merely an ending. It also signifies a new beginning. As new facilities are built, more opportunities and challenges will arise for students to explore and thrive. The ark will always hold a special place in their hearts and inspire them to move forward. Let’s look forward to new days and exciting opportunities that lie ahead with the new facilities.
