A Productive Day fills me with a sense of Pride

On a vibrant sunny morning, Ellie Xu stood in front of the mirror, carefully arranging her taekwondo uniform and displaying unwavering confidence. She began learning this sport at the age of six, and her passion for it has never waned. Now, at twelve years old, she harbours a big dream—to pursue the world championship on behalf of Hong Kong. In addition to taekwondo, she also loves athletics. She is a member of the school athletics team and has brought honours to the school in competitions.

Ellie excels in taekwondo and acrobatics, and she has a deep passion for sports, including dancing, swimming, basketball, soccer, and running. She also works hard in her studies, demonstrating remarkable self-discipline in her learning approach. For example, when she was six years old, her mother bought her a self-study book for learning Cantonese, enabling her to scan QR codes for daily self-learning.

Ellie has successfully established a well-structured routine: practicing taekwondo in Tsuen Wan on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, undergoing acrobatics training in Kowloon Bay on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and even travelling to Shenzhen for four hours of acrobatics practice on Sundays. Everything in her schedule is meticulously planned and executed.

Her mother always accompanies her to training sessions and is amazed by her rapid improvement. She believes that her daughter is on the path to a professional career, pursuing her dreams. As for Ellie Xu, she never complains about the training, even during intense sessions that last up to 10 hours. She is determined to embrace every opportunity and challenge that comes her way.

The vice principal holds Ellie in high regard, describing her as a “Sunshine Girl.”  In just a few months, Ellie Xu has already earned the appreciation of her teachers. Her class teacher recognizes her fluent writing skills and good English proficiency, and encourages her to continue pursuing her dreams.

These experiences have reinforced Ellie's belief: giving her all is more powerful than simply trying her best. She eagerly embraces every challenge on her path to success and takes pride in her journey.
