Kiki Zhang | Snapshot at Ta Tung
Let us not be weary in pursuing goodness. If we don’t give up, the time will come to reap the rewards.
My most impressive experience at school revolves around Street Dance. I have been a member of the school street dance team for three years. However, at the very beginning, I had no interest in street dance and even resisted the idea of dancing. It was my mum who insisted that I join the team and registered me for it. My resistance mainly stemmed from my fear of Mr. Chan, the teacher-in-charge of the street dance team. He appeared fierce and strict. However, he became my Maths teacher when I was in Primary 2, and I soon realized that Mr. Chan was, in fact, a good teacher. He had his own effective way of teaching, which changed my perception of him, and I became less afraid.
I remember my first dance lesson vividly. I was worried about not being able to keep up with the steps and felt nervous throughout the session. Luckily, I received warm support from my friends, which helped relieve my pressure. They practised with me in the park, and I was able to improve gradually. Eventually, I succeeded in joining the school team. My mum was right: we must be persistent to achieve our goals.
Street Dance has not only helped me strengthen my body but also taught me how to cooperate with others, build my confidence, and develop a sense of responsibility. I hope to remain a member of the street dance team until I graduate. This experience has enriched my life and enabled me to find friends with similar interests. I look forward to embracing more challenges and achievements in the future.
