Love Hong Kong; Love Our Nation

On February 7th, the school organized an assembly promoting National Security Education (NSE). We aimed to raise students’ awareness of national security. The assembly was inspiring as it provided not only a lecture but also interactive activities to enhance the students' understanding of the importance of national security. It effectively stimulated their patriotism and sense of responsibility for creating a safe and harmonious living environment.

Hong Kong Youth Power Association

The association was established in 2010, composed of university students from various higher education institutions in Hong Kong. It organizes and runs activities for young people to broaden their horizons, inspire their thinking, and support their personal development. Its activities include academic competitions, cultural performances, entrepreneurship funding programmes, and internships in mainland China. Additionally, the association actively promotes exchanges between Hong Kong youth and their counterparts in mainland China to enhance mutual understanding and recognition.

Chinese Traditional Art: Face-Changing in Sichuan Opera

Face-changing is a unique art originating from Sichuan Opera in China. It is amazing how the performers can change their faces in quick succession to convey the different emotions and feelings of the characters in the play. The face-changing techniques generally fall into four categories: “wiping,” “blowing,” “pulling,” and “ghost faces.”

Chinese Path to Modernization

There are five prominent characteristics found in Chinese-style Modernization:

• Huge Population

• Common Prosperity for All

• Material and Cultural-ethical Advancement

• Harmony between Humanity and Nature

• Peaceful Development

These characteristics collectively constitute the unique essence of Chinese-style modernization, and also provide other developing countries with a new model of development.

The Success of Poverty Alleviation in China

China has achieved remarkable success in poverty alleviation. Its success is based on the dedication and persistence of the government. With sound fiscal and social policies, there are more opportunities for people from impoverished regions. The government continues to invest in these areas in various sectors, such as education, training, and medical advancements, helping the local population develop their capabilities. The government and the entire society play a role in poverty alleviation, making significant contributions to its success.
